Adult Chaperone Activities
- Accompany youth in door-to-door evangelization
- Assist with feeding the homeless
- Work with small groups of teens
- Collaborate with Priests
- Accompany teens on public transportation
- Pray with teens
- Encountering Christ!
Adult Chaperones help supervise teen missionaries on missions. Adults are needed for local day-missions in the Philly area and on Holy Week missions. They can participate in whichever days of the missions their schedules allow for, but must complete a certification process which is outlined below. This helps ensure the safety of our youth missionaries. Contact us with any questions at missionyouthphilly@gmail.com
Step 1: Secure RC Activities Volunteer Certificate
Step 2: Secure Archdiocese of Philadelphia Required Clearances and Background Checks
NOTE: Due to the processing timeframes of the required checks, please aim to submit all applications at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the missions.
As an official volunteer working within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who may have any possible contact with children you must complete certain background checks and clearances. Below are the Philadelphia Archdiocese's requirements.
Volunteers visiting from another state or country may participate on a provisional basis for no more than 30 days while the Pennsylvania State Police, the Department of Public Welfare, and/or the FBI are processing the background checks, so long as they provide clearances from their state or country of residence.

- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (~ 15 min)
- If you are a Pennsylvania resident for more than ten years, then obtain a Disclosure Statement (~ 5 min). If you are a Pennsylvania resident for less than ten years, then obtain an FBI Fingerprint Clearance (~ 15 min)
Step 3: Archdiocese of Philadelphia Required Classes
