Adult Chaperone Activities
Adult Chaperones help supervise teen missionaries on missions. Adults are needed for local day-missions in the Philly area and on Holy Week missions. They can participate in whichever days of the missions their schedules allow for, but must complete a certification process which is outlined below. This helps ensure the safety of our youth missionaries. This process usually takes 30 minutes. Once completed, the adult chaperone is certified for three years. The renewal of the certification is a much simpler process. Contact Mary Sharkey with any questions: sharkey.mary@gmail.com
NOTE: Due to the processing timeframes of the required checks, please aim to submit all applications at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the missions.
As an official volunteer working within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who may have any possible contact with children you must complete certain background checks and clearances. Below are the Philadelphia Archdiocese's requirements.
Volunteers visiting from another state or country may participate on a provisional basis for no more than 30 days while the Pennsylvania State Police, the Department of Public Welfare, and/or the FBI are processing the background checks, so long as they provide clearances from their state or country of residence.
